Thursday, Feb. 2, 6 p.m. at the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum, Hyde Park
Learn the fascinating details behind one of the defining events of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency and how bipartisan cooperation helped lead America to victory in World War II. The FDR Presidential Library hosts a conversation and book signing with Peter Shinkle, author of the book “Uniting America: How FDR and Henry Stimson Brought Democrats and Republicans Together to Win World War II.” Click here to reserve your spot at this free event.
Feb. 3-26 at Gallery 40, Poughkeepsie
Formed in 2020 during the height of the pandemic as an online gallery for local artists to showcase their work, Rhinebeck Fine Art served as a life raft of sorts during that bleak period when museums were locked tight and public exhibitions were put on hold. Now that the world has thankfully reopened, Rhinebeck Fine Art is working with local galleries and hosting art openings at brick-and-mortar locations throughout Dutchess while maintaining its online presence. This exhibit at Gallery 40 features the masterful creations of more than a dozen artists. The opening reception is set for Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. Click here for a preview of the show.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 5-9 p.m. at the MJN Convention Center, Poughkeepsie
Don’t be a chicken! Head to the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center (formerly the Mid-Hudson Civic Center) for the 16th annual WingFest. Sample all the best wings in the Hudson Valley, expertly prepared by your favorite local restaurants, food trucks and caterers. Enjoy live bands, brew stations, a meet-and-greet with New York Rangers alumni and more. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, a Hudson Valley-based non-profit organization raising funds to help fight childhood cancer. In honor of SuperTy, this year’s WingFest will feature a Superheroes vs. Villains theme, so dress like your favorite comic book character for a chance to win prizes. Fellas, be sure to chow down on plenty of wings so you can bulk up for this year’s Ultimate Dad Bod Competition! A panel of celebrity judges will select the winners in a variety of categories (Sexiest Dance, Best Wardrobe, etc.) and award $500 in cash and prizes. Saturday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m. at the Sosnoff Theater, Fisher Center, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson
The United States Army’s oldest musical ensemble presents a performance in celebration of America’s musical heritage featuring composers the likes of Charles Ives, Aaron Copeland and Florence Price. Staff Sergeant Stacy Wilson, a world-renowned saxophone virtuoso, will lead a performance of Paul Creston’s “Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Band.” Staff Sergeant Wilson has performed all over the world as a soloist and a chamber musician and has won top prizes in many prestigious competitions. Saturday, Feb. 11, 8 p.m. at The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park
NDSO’s first concert of the New Year is sure to get your heart racing! “Summon the Heroes” features exciting musical selections from the “Spider-Man” and “Superman” movies, the James Bond movies, “The Lone Ranger” and more. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Revel 32°, Poughkeepsie
Get your wine glasses ready as Revel 32°, 1915 Wine Cellar and iHeart Media present this inaugural festival featuring a dizzying array of fine wines and gourmet foods.The Grand Concourse will include dozens of wines from the Hudson Valley and around the world. Feb. 24-March 5 at Adams Fairacre Farms, Poughkeepsie
Are you looking to plant some flowers and trees at your home this spring, or maybe install a patio or a walkway? Before you dig one shovelful of dirt, be sure to swing by the annual Lawn and Garden Show at Adams Fairacre Farms. Every winter, the crews at Adams Landscaping work tirelessly to construct spectacular landscape designs to showcase the hundreds of different flowering spring bulbs, annuals, trees and shrubs in their greenhouses. There will be plenty of vendors and lawn and garden experts on hand to answer questions and offer advice. Admission is free. Stick around for seminars, giveaways and raffles. There will be a similar show at Adams’ Wappinger location March 3-12.
Saturday, Feb. 25, 7:30 p.m. at The Stissing Center, Pine Plains
The Stissing Center’s “Stand-Up Downstairs” event in August was such a hit that they’ve scheduled another raucous night of comedy – and this time, they’re moving it upstairs to the Main Stage. Cynthia Levin, Jim Dailakis and Rachel Lenihan highlight this madcap comic lineup, with another performer or two possibly added. You’ve seen them on television, they’ve graced the stages at comedy clubs from New York City to Los Angeles and beyond, and they’re teaming up for what will certainly be a zany night in northern Dutchess. Paula Poundstone has been one of the most popular and recognizable comics of the last 40-plus years and has had them laughing in the aisles everywhere from “The Merv Griffin Show” to the White House Correspondents Dinner.
