Independence Day Celebrations in Dutchess

Summer is officially underway and July 4th is on the horizon, which means food, friends, family, fun and fireworks! How will you be celebrating this year? We invite you to come join us in Dutchess for one of these great events. The festivities kick off this weekend, so check out our round-up below and start planning your 4th of July in the beautiful Hudson Valley!

Sunday, July 1st

Fireworks at Memorial Park in Beacon
Time: 5–10pm
Address: Memorial Park, 7 Robert Cahill Drive, Beacon, 12508
Admission: Free
The City of Beacon’s Independence Day event includes live music and food vendors, with activities for the kids to do in the
afternoon, and fireworks at dusk. A rain date has been set for July 4th.

East Fishkill Fireworks
Time: Summer Concert at 7pm, Fireworks at 9:15pm
Address: East Fishkill Recreation Park, 392 NY Rte. 82 & NY Rte. 376, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533
Admission: Free
Details: East Fishkill’s 4th of July event starts at 7pm with an oldies concert Adam and the Newhearts performing all the great rock and roll hits from the 50's and 60's! Fireworks will go off at dusk (9:15pm). A rain date has been set for July 3rd, same time & place.

Pawling's Independence Day Celebration
Time:

Admission: Free
The town & village of Pawling’s Independence Day event includes live music, food vendors, pony rides and face painting, and fireworks at dusk (8pm).  

Tuesday, July 3rd

Bannerman Island Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Tour
Time: 7pm

Enjoy a boat ride to Bannerman Island on The Estuary Steward. Guided tour of Bannerman’s Castle and residence on Pollepel Island. Learn about Frank Bannerman, his island, home and gardens. Fireworks viewing after the history tour. www.bannermancastle.org/index.html

Wednesday, July 4th

Hyde Park 4th of July Parade
Time: 10am
Address: 4060 Albany Post Rd, Hyde Park, 12538
Admission: Free
The theme of this year’s Hyde Park Parade is “100 Years of Veterans”.  The parade starts at the Roosevelt Theater and ends in the back of the Regina Coeli Church for trophies and awards.

Village of Fishkill Reading of the Declaration of Independence
Time: 11am-1pm
Address: Van Wyck Hall, 504 US Rte. 9, Fishkill, 12524. 845-897-4430.
Admission: Free
The Village of Fishkill hosts a reading of the Declaration of Independence on the steps of Village Hall. The reader is Denise Doring Van Buren, National First Vice-President of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Refreshments follow (no fireworks).

Clermont State Historic Site - An Old-Fashioned Independence Day!
Time: 2–10pm
Address: 1 Clermont Rd., Germantown, 12526. (518) 537-4240.
Admission:  $15 per car, (Friends of Clermont $10)
Head back to colonial times for this 4th of July celebration. 18th century crafts, re-enactors, music and entertainment will be available for guests, making it a great day for young families.  After the daytime celebration,  the terrific view of the Saugerties fireworks will up the sky over the Hudson River. www.friendsofclermont.org/events

Walkway Over the Hudson 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular!
Time: 7–10pm
Address: Waryas Park, 1 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
Admission Price: $12.50 at Walkway Over the Hudson; Free at Waryas Park
The City of Poughkeepsie’s annual fireworks spectacular on July 4th can be viewed either from Waryas Park (free of charge) or from up on the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. Wristbands are for sale, and you’re required to purchase them in advance to use the Walkway (age 5 years & up) for $12.50. The gates open at 6:30pm. Fireworks begin at dusk (9-9:30pm) from a barge on the Hudson River. View from the train station parking garage as well. Call (845) 451-4072 or see www.cityofpoughkeepsie.com . Independence Day Celebration at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum
Time: 6:30–9pm
Address: 75 North Water Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
Admission:
ON-SITE PARKING PASSES (includes museum admission for all occupants)
Members: $40 per car
Non-Members: $50 per car

PICNIC PASS ADD-ON: $20 (Entitles you and your car load to private seating under our pavilion. Includes one table and seating for everyone arriving with you in your vehicle. Grills and alcohol not permitted.)

WALK-UP MUSEUM ADMISSION ONLY: $9.00 per person
MHCM Members: FREE

Enjoy an evening of play and celebration on the waterfront with a front row viewing of the July 4th fireworks with convenient on-site parking! Join the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum BEFORE the fireworks for play inside of the museum or bring your own picnic to enjoy in our waterfront pavilion!
