Cut Your Tree at These Dutchess County Farms

Tis’ the season for hot cocoa, twinkling lights and jolly treats! As Christmas approaches, gather your family and make the season merry with a trip to one of our Dutchess tree farms in search of the perfect centerpiece to your home during the holidays - your Christmas tree! This is the perfect way to kick off the season with loved ones and keep holiday traditions alive.

Abel's TreesVerbank 

Sip on a hot cup of complimentary cocoa as you walk through the 25-acres of Abel’s Tree Farm in search of the perfect Christmas tree! Choose from Balsam and Douglas Firs, and Norway, Blue and White Spruce trees. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a few standing over 10 feet tall! Tree carts, wreaths, tree stands, hot food and fresh baked goods will be available for purchase. Free baling, cutting and loafing trees is available, and complimentary hand saws for use. Open for three weekends, starting Black Friday running through December 15.

Battenfeld’s Christmas Tree FarmRed Hook

Step onto this family-owned 100-acre farm for a cozy day of tree hunting. This tree farm offers six tree species – Douglas Fir, White Pine, Spruce, Balsam Fir, Concolor Fir, and Frazier Fir each with its own unique characteristics and appeal. Once you’ve cut your own tree, stop by their wreath barn for the perfect holiday accessories like garlands and kissing balls. Custom wreath orders are also available. Don’t forget to include your (leashed) furry friend in the festivities! And make sure you have your Christmas list handy, as Santa will be visiting the farm on select dates! Season opens November 25 through 27, reopens November 29 and runs through mid-December.

Evergreen FarmMillbrook

Evergreen Farm hopes to bring visitors a memorable Christmas experience! Find your perfect fresh, fragrant tree ranging from 5 ft. to 10 ft.  in a variety of tree species – Douglas Fir, Frasier Fir and Spruce. Don't want to cut your own tree? No problem - they offer full service. Simply pick out your tree and they’ll cut it and carry it for you. Bailing and handsaws for those who wish to cut their own are available for free. Open for two weekends only, November 29-December 1, and December 7-8.

Hahn FarmSalt Point

Get some fresh air and make your spirits bright at Hahn Farm! With a selection of Douglas, Fraser, Canaan and Concolor Firs, White Pine, and Blue Spruce trees – cut your own or browse their pre-cut trees. Take a seat and enjoy the views from their outdoor picnic tables and don’t forget to shop their fresh wreaths. Opening day is Black Friday.

Mike's Evergreen Forest Christmas Tree Farm, Lagrangeville 

Grab a cup of their hot cocoa and search for your ideal tree! Choose from Fraser, Balsaam, Canaan. Concolor Fir, and Blue Spruce. Wreaths, smores, and homemade cookies will be available for purchase. Open weekends from Thanksgiving until Christmas! For weekday availability, give them a call.

Murphy Crest Tree Farm, Amenia

Enjoy the beautiful views from Murphy Crest Tree Farm as you find your perfect tree!  Choose from Douglas fir, Concolor fir, Canaan fir, and Norway spruce.  They also have wreaths, tree stands, crafts, and other accessories for sale.  Their friendly staff offer help with cutting and tying your tree to your vehicle.  Baling, mechanical tree shaking, drilling for stand straight tree stands, hand saws, tree carts, and hot chocolate or coffee are also available at no cost. Murphy Crest is open November Black Friday, November 29, Saturday, November 30 and Saturday, December 7 (while supplies last.)

Plains View FarmPleasant Valley

Grab your crew (including your leashed pup) and head over to Plains View Farm! Cut your own tree from a selection including Fraser Firs (nothing over 7 feet), Norway Spruces (many sizes, including 12 feet and higher) and Blue Spruces. Spruce up your space and shop their other fresh decor including holiday wreaths. Although their gift shop will not be open this year, you can also browse through their selection of handmade wooden gifts upon request. The farm will be open weekends starting Black Friday.

Primrose Hill FarmStaatsburg

Take a stroll through the historic Primrose Hill Farm and breathe in the fresh winter air! Cut your own trees from, call for details 845-889-4725.

Saltsman Christmas Tree FarmRhinebeck

Enjoy the quaint charm of this small, family-owned farm where you can choose and cut Blue Spruces and White Spruces—with pre-cut Frasier Firs, Canaan Firs, Concolor Firs, Douglas Firs and Balsam Firs available. Come for a tree and stay for the complimentary donuts and open barnyard fire on weekends. Browse their Christmas Barn Shop for the perfect holiday accessories like wreaths, and centerpieces. Pre-cut trees are also available as well as saws and bailing. Open the day after Thanksgiving until trees have sold out; before visiting, call for an update on available inventory at ​845-392-6292.

Solvang FarmPoughkeepsie

The Christmas spirit will be in full swing on the traditional opening day of Black Friday with a large selection of cut-your-own and fresh-cut trees including Blue Spruce, White Spruce, Norway Spruce and Engelmann Spruce. Shop wreaths, white pine roping, table arrangements, and kissing balls - all made fresh on the farm by hand. Open weekends (Friday-Sunday) starting November 29.

Wonderland FarmRhinebeck

Bring home a picture-perfect tree from Wonderland Farm! Their trees have been featured in Pottery Barn’s catalogues, Country Living Magazine and other national media outlets. Pick from a variety of beautifully sculpted evergreens ranging from 4 to 15+ feet. Balsam, Frasier, and Canaan Firs as well as Blue Spruce are available! Kick off your Christmas season early, as Wonderland opens the weekend before Thanksgiving November 23-24; call before visiting to ensure inventory. Plus, additional perks like free rope, free wrapping, borrow a handsaw progrom and complimentary hot cocoa make the experience even more festive.
