Craving fresh air and sunshine? Make Black Snake Brewing Company at Old Adriance Farm your next stop on Dutchess County’s craft beverage trail. Grab an IPA or ale, unwind and take in the scenery of the farm on a beautiful Hudson Valley weekend. The women-led team of this farm brewery also curates a selection of local guest taps and New York State wine, cider, gin, whiskey and other spirits. 136 beautiful acres are home to farm animals and a hopyard that fuels grain-to-glass beers. Migliorelli Farm cultivates the barley, fruit and other ingredients found in this Red Hook brewery’s releases. Nestled on 25 acres of land in Poughkeepsie, Plan Bee Farm Brewery is a scenic spot to enjoy a craft beer with local terroir. Made from 100% New York State ingredients—including hops, fruit, and honey cultivated right on the farm—their brews are crafted to be authentically local. A real family operation, couple Emily and Evan Watson specialize in sours, farmhouse ales and saison-style pours. Barn Beer, their flagship brew, features tart lemon and pineapple notes. Past small-batch beers showcased unique ingredients such as hot peppers, strawberries, rainbow carrots, ginger and even pickles. Blue Collar Brewery in Poughkeepsie serves up craft ales and lagers in a repurposed factory building, rich with local history. The striking brick structure once housed a meat packing company and several other “blue collar” businesses over the decades—hence the brewery’s name. Their expansive tasting room—dubbed The Factory—sits in a former IBM campus building. Sloop’s visionary team of brewers took the juicy, hazy New England IPA with their flagship Juice Bomb. Named after the Hudson River’s two-way flow, this micro craft brewery offers a variety of high quality, handmade beers. Confusion farmhouse ale, Climb High P.A. Hudson Valley Brewery pulls from a variety of influences to create traditional, unique and experimental drafts, with a focus on colorful sour IPAs. Industrial Arts Brewing Company serves up craft beer in an ultra-vibrant modern space born out of an abandoned factory. Aromatic hazy IPAs in the Wrench series join pale ales like Tools of the Trade, which features bright notes of passionfruit, pink grapefruit and white grape. Score a seat on their vast patio Thursday through Sunday for unparalleled views of the Hudson Highlands mountain range.
