Save the date of Sept. 15th for a great new event, the Chef’s Lamb Challenge. We invite you to come and sample the dishes at Millbrook Vineyards & Winery. The VIP Ticket holders will have chance to vote for The Best Local Lamb Dishes of 2018. Dutchess Tourism, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, Millbrook Winery, The Valley Table and the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Growers Association are excited to offer this First Annual Chef’s Challenge, with cash prizes awarded.

Also, keep an eye out for the upcoming Visitor Profile Survey we’ll conduct with Young Strategies. We last did this five years ago and it yielded valuable insightful information about our visitors – and non-visitors. Participating businesses will receive their own visitor profile, as well as play an important role in Dutchess Tourism’s strategic planning.
 



Now Update Your Own Listing and Add Events Online

Dutchess Tourism now has an extranet for our website, which allows you to directly update your listings, add events to our calendar, review account information, and upload photos. This will ensure your content is up-to-date and accurate, so visitors to our website (more than 1.5 million in 2017) can learn about your business while planning their Dutchess experience. NEW: Event Impact Calculator

Want to know the economic value and ROI to the community from your festival or cultural event? DTI has contracted with Destinations International for a customized Event Impact Calculator. The EIC was designed by Tourism Economics - the same Oxford Economics Company that annually provides tourism economic impact data for NYS, the Hudson Valley and Dutchess County. It draws on ten different data sources to provide an industry-wide standard. We encourage all festival and event organizers to reach out to Melaine Rottkamp at mrottkamp@dutchesstourism.com to learn more about this exciting, FREE business support service from Dutchess Tourism.

 

Two Marketing Gold Awards for Dutchess Tourism & BBG&G

Dutchess Tourism and our agency BBG&G Advertising and PR recently won two Gold medals, a Service Industry Advertising (SIA) Award and a Hermes Creative Award.

The SIA Gold Award is for Special Video Production for Dutchess County Live Video: The Culinary Institute of America. This helpful video tours the campus of the world’s most famous culinary college. This was the first Dutchess Live Facebook video. Others in the series can be seen on the @dutchesstourism Facebook page.

The Hermes Creative Gold Award is for Special Video Production of the first virtual reality (VR) video to be released by any Hudson Valley tourism agency.
