This leading co-ed liberal arts college was founded by brewer/philanthropist Matthew Vassar in 1861. Thousand-acre campus includes renowned architecture, 200 species of trees, two lakes, Shakespeare Garden, ecological preserve, and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Free walking tours in spring and fall.
