Train lines from Grand Central Terminal in NYC to Dutchess County.

Hudson Line (west side of the county along the Hudson River): Beacon, New Hamburg, Poughkeepsie.

Harlem Lines (east side of the county): Wassaic, Tenmile River, Dover Plains, Harlem Valley-Wingdale, Appalachian Trail, Pawling.

Bike Riders need to purchase a $5.00 lifetime bike permit. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Specifics are outlined on a permit application as to available trains for bike transportation.

Be sure to check out the National Park Service’s free Hudson River Train Tour app. Part travel guide, part audio tour, this app uses location services to describe the points of interest you’re approaching along your train ride in real time. It works on the Metro-North Hudson Line between New York City and Poughkeepsie and on Amtrak between New York City and Albany.
