Discover the ruins of this Scottish-style castle on the Hudson River was built in the early 1900s by Frank Bannerman to store military surplus items. Take a magnificent boat ride from the Beacon dock over to Pollepel Island aboard the BCT’s Estuary Steward tour boat. Enjoy a guided or self-guided walking tour of the island. Visit the famous Bannerman Castle ruins and gardens and explore the original Bannerman residence, which is now a museum. Stop by the new island pavilion and gift shop! around the castle, residence, and restored gardens.

Enjoy special events, movie nights, lectures, musical performances, and theatrical events by Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival and Theatre on the Road.

Note: Trails have some rough terrain as well as 75 stairs. Accessible via water only. Advance booking is required for all tours!
