A former railroad bridge built in 1888, the Walkway spans 1.26 miles and stretches 212 feet above the majestic Hudson River. It's the longest, elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. Enjoy a magnificent birds' eye view of the Hudson, Catskill Mountains and adjacent landscape. It's ideal for walkers, joggers, cyclists and rollerbladers. No skateboards or motorized vehicles are allowed. A small number of bikes are available to rent.
From the Poughkeepsie train station: 15 minute walk to the stairs at Washington Street. Or walk 5 minutes to Upper Landing Park on the waterfront and ride the glass elevator up to the deck. Elevator closed January to April.
