The Moviehouse, in collaboration with the Troutbeck Symposium, presents "Students as Historians: A Community-Based Approach to History" featuring three student-made documentary films followed by a Q and A session with educators.
The Troutbeck Symposium, scheduled for April 30–May 2, is the annual meetings of local students and educators to explore the little-known histories centered around communities of color and other marginalized groups. The Symposium was inspired by the 1916 and 1933 Amenia Conferences, which were held at Troutbeck (a secluded estate hotel in Amenia) and ultimately led to the formation of the NAACP.
