Sunflower Season Opens at Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils

The seventh-annual public sunflower-picking season at Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils is expected to open on July 26 (check their Facebook and Instagram pages or their website for official opening information and weather updates). Once the flowers are in bloom, the farm will be open through Sept. 1.

Hours of operation: Monday through Thursday, 12–6 p.m.; Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to sunset.

About the event: There will be 8–10 acres available to the public to walk and enjoy. Admission is free (except on evenings with live music, when there will be a $5 per car admission fee after 5 p.m.). Check the schedule before arriving, as new performers will be added. A portion of purchases made during the event will be donated to the Sparrow's Nest organization.

Flower picking is $3.50 per flower or fill one their buckets with flowers for $35 (bucket not included in the price). Clippers will be available, but you may bring your own, as it can get very crowded at times.

There will be food and beverages available for purchase on site. Enjoy items off the grill, like burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and sausage and peppers, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Wash it down with a selection of local beer, cider and Millbrook Vineyards wines. Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Light snacks will be offered Mondays through Thursdays. There will be Adirondack chairs and a few picnic tables available, or bring your own outdoor chairs or picnic blankets to stay and enjoy the view. Don’t miss out on the amazing sunsets!
