Lyra Music Festival at the Howland Cultural Center

Every summer, Lyra Music brings together world-class musicians, outstanding young string players and pianists and professional musicians and educators for concerts, masterclasses and student performances throughout the Hudson Valley. Lyra young artists are pre-professional string players and pianists — classical music’s next generation! Several events in this year's Lyra Music Festival will be held at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon. The schedule is listed below.

• July 2, 7 p.m.: Lyra Faculty Artists in Concert (Featuring the faculty artists of the Lyra Music Young Artist Performance Program: Gergana Haralampieva, violin; Gregory K. Williams, viola; Jisoo Ok, cello; and Diyi Tang, piano).

• July 7, 4 p.m.: Lyra Benefit Concert (Featuring pianist Fei-Fei and the musicians of the Lyra Music Young Artist Performance Program. Fei-Fei will perform works by Chopin, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff. A gala reception will follow the concert).

• July 11, 7 p.m.: Lyra Guest Artists in Concert (An evening of chamber music with Lyra Music Festival Guest Artists followed by a reception and opportunity to meet the artists. Featuring works by Haydn, Newman and Shostakovich, performed by Min-Young Kim, violin; Clancy Newman, cello; and Fei-Fei, piano).

• July 13, 2 p.m.: Lyra Young Artists in Concert (An afternoon of chamber music performed by the artists of the Lyra Music Young Artist Performance Program. Program to include works by Beethoven, Borodin, Faure, Goltermann, Handel, Piazzolla, and Price).
