Join Shannon McKenna Schmidt, author of "The First Lady of World War II: Eleanor Roosevelt's Daring Journey to the Frontlines and Back," for a panel discussion exploring Eleanor's role as a ground-breaking wartime journalist. Her reporting that followed an exhaustive five-week tour of the Pacific theater helped stimulate legislation that led to the famous GI Bill of Rights.

Shannon McKenna Schmidt will be joined by the Franklin D. Roosevelt Museum and Library's Deputy Director, Kristen Strigel Carter. The conversation will be moderated by Eleanor Roosevelt's great-granddaughter, Anna Eleanor Fierst, who also serves as the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill's Board Chair. A Q&A session will follow the panel. Light refreshments will be served.
