Pollination Celebration at Locust Grove Estate

Perfect for grown-ups, kids, scouts, moms, dads and pollination promoters of the world of all ages! Here's the schedule of the day's events:

Adults

1 p.m., "Gardening for Honeybees" with Grai St. Clair Rice of BeeJoy. Grai will tell you which flowers to grow to attract and keep the bees busy in your garden!

2:30 p.m., Celebrate flowers with Locust Grove Gardener Claire Davis, who will take you on a walk and talk of in the Estate's blooming flower garden to show you what you can do in your home garden to promote the best environment for pollinators in all four seasons!

Kids

1 - 2:30 p.m., Pollination Party (all ages, but especially ages 4 - 8 and older). Celebrate birds, bats, bees, butterflies and bugs, then make and take a special pollinator mask to wear on a pollinator walk in the garden.

1 - 2:30 p.m., Plant a Garden with Candace Gallagher of the Pollinator Patrol Club! (all ages, but especially ages 8 - 11). Plantthe vegetables and flowers that are the best for pollination. Plant your own seedling to grow at home!

3 - 4 p.m., Meet the beekeepers! (For adults and kids). Meet Jane and Fedele Fiore of Fiore Family Honey, who will share their experience and love of beekeeping with you!

Brownies: Bug Badge; Junior Girl Scouts: Gardening Badge; Lion Cub Scouts: Watch it Grow; BSA: Environmental Badge honeybee requirement (in adult programming with Grai).
