This annual festival welcomes world-class musicians to the banks of the Hudson River for a celebration of jazz the whole family will enjoy! This year’s festival celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Charles Mingus, the great American jazz double-bassist, pianist, composer and bandleader. Featured artists include Buster Williams, Craig Harris, Regina Carter, Camille Thurman, Joaquin Pozo, Carla Cook and Michael King. Grab a bite to eat at one of the local food trucks scheduled to be on-site. The choices include soul food, fish and chips, Caribbean cuisine, barbecue chicken, sandwiches, tacos and ice cream. General seating is available under the tent, or you can bring your own chair or blanket and relax on the lawn. Gates open at 11 a.m. Waryas Park is within walking distance of the Poughkeepsie Metro-North train station. Purchase your tickets online before Aug. 1 to receive the early-bird discount.
