5th Annual Beefsteak at The CIA

The Beefsteak banquet originated in the 1800s in New York City. At first, it was a men-only, all-you-can-eat event, where you ate with your fingers. Today, everyone is invited to share the camaraderie of the communal table and enjoy never ending rounds of food, beer, and bourbon. A brass band playing Beefsteak-era music, and sing-a-long will take place mid-way through the meal. Utensils are available…if you must! The menu includes:

Starters
Baguettes, Crudités, New York State Cheddar

Seafood
Roasted Oysters, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Jumbo Crabmeat Salad with Russian Dressing

Prelude
Miniature Burgers with Homemade Ketchup and Bread & Butter Pickles
Grilled Lamb Chops
Bacon-wrapped Lamb Kidneys

Intermission
Singalong

Beefsteak Entreé
Roasted Sirloins with Blood & Butter Gravy
House-made Potato Chips, Fresh Horseradish

Dessert
Profiteroles, Chocolate Cake Doughnuts, New York-Style Cheesecake

Table Bourbon

Attire
Paper butcher hats and aprons to be provided for all.
Prohibition/jazz-age dress encouraged: including suits for men and flapper-style attire for women!
