Can I have my wedding at one of the historic mansions?

Although many of the Dutchess County Historic sites do not allow wedding ceremonies inside the mansions, some will, for a fee, assist with outdoor weddings on the grounds or having photographs taken. Check individual sites for details.

Where can I ride a bike in Dutchess County?
Bike your way through the heart of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area via six historic and scenic tours. You’ll enjoy charming villages, rural hamlets and rolling meadows on your journey. Routes vary in length from 23 to 32 miles, with some shorter alternatives and segmented options.

Sixteen golf courses, including the oldest public course in the United States, will offer you some of your greatest challenges. A number of the courses will accept reserved tee-times up to seven days before you wish to play. Call in advance for details.

When is the best time to see the leaves change?
Typically the Hudson Valley enjoys autumn end of September through the end of October, with the leaves most brilliant early to mid-October. Make your overnight reservations early - you’ll need more than one day to see it all!

There is no public transportation from the train station to Hyde Park, however taxis provide a direct, inexpensive ride.

A cruise on the majestic Hudson River is a great way to see the Hudson River Valley. Two cruise boats depart in the region: one from the dock in Newburgh and one from the dock in historic Kingston.
