1. Adams Centennial Garden Show
When: March 1st-10th | Where: Adams Fairacre Farms (Multiple Locations) 

If you look up Adams you may see that it’s a grocery store, but it isn’t just any grocery store! Adams Fairacre Farms is a community favorite, providing fresh local products sourced from farms along with handcrafted goods – from apples and sweet potatoes, to maple syrup, flowers and baked goods! This year they are celebrating their 100th anniversary and are kicking things off at their Centennial Garden Show. The Poughkeepsie location event will run March 1st-10th and the Wappingers location from March 8th-17th. The show will feature hundreds of flowering spring bulbs, annuals, trees and shrubs, along with food, seminars, giveaways and more! Start spring off right at this wonderful annual event!

2. Dutchess County St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Fun Run
When: March 2nd | Where: Wappingers Falls

We are excited to be a part of this event, as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebration has added its 1st annual Dutchess County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Fun Run! Runners will take off an follow the parade route for a short, but hilly 1.4 miles along crowd lined streets. Stick around after the run for the parade festivities including great pipe and drum bands, floats, music and more!

3. Baby Goat Weekend
When: March 9th & 10th | Where: Sprout Creek Farm, Poughkeepsie

Baby Goat Weekend, presented by Big Gay Hudson Valley, has a packed list of happenings perfect for a weekend away in the Hudson Valley. Get a true farm experience as you work alongside Sprout Creek Farm’s farmers and educators to care for the animals and learn what goes in to running a farm – from each gallon of milk, wheel or cheese and carton of eggs they produce. Enjoy evening entertainment from Hudson’s Trixie Starr and Fabulous Farmer John and spend time relaxing during a baby goat yoga session. Last by not least, taste true farm-to-table cuisine with meals prepared by the farm’s Executive Chef featuring ingredients grown at Sprout Creek.


4. Hudson Valley Chowder Fest
When: March 9th | Where: Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie

Winter may be winding down, but it’s still chilly out there. Grab some friends and warm up at the Hudson Valley Chowder Fest! Enjoy an afternoon sampling championship chowders, soups and award-winning chillis. There will be music, craft beer and even games for kids. Don’t miss out!

5. Hudson Valley Restaurant Week 
When: March 11th-24th | Where: Multiple Restaurant Locations

Spring always gets us excited because it means the return of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week! Presented by the Valley Table, this two-week dining extravaganza features a 3-course lunch or dinner and is all about highlighting the talented chefs and locally sourced food of the region. The participating restaurants have been released and reservations are now open. Make your reservations now to ensure you get to try someplace new or revisit your old favorites. The 3-course prix-fixe lunch is $22.95, with dinner set at $32.95. 6. Emo Skate Night
When: March 23rd | Where: Roller Magic, Hyde Park

Get out those band t-shirts, dark nail polish and old cd’s for Emo Night at Roller Magic! This throwback event is sure to give you all the feels as you and your friends enjoy the tunes of all the emo, indie, and pop punk classics. Sure to be the best dance party on wheels!

7. Maple Weekends
When: March 23rd | Where: Multiple Locations

Did you know that maple production in New York is among the highest in the United States? Join us for Maple Weekends on March 23rd-24th and 30th-31st to learn more fun facts about the sweet stuff! Here in Dutchess County, we have a handful of family-owned, high-quality maple syrup companies that look forward to educating you about the maple syrup making process, in addition to offering sugarhouse tours, family-friendly activities, tastings and more. 8. Hudson Valley Tattoo Fest
When: March 29th-31st | Where: Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie

Whether you have ink or are still thinking about, the 1st annual Hudson Valley Tattoo Fest is going to be one to remember. With over 200 tattoo artists from around the globe, they’ll be showcasing their best work. Accompanied by vendors featuring jewelry, food, records, and coffee, along with live entertainment and exciting contests.

9. Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra: Flight 
When: March 30th | Where: Marriott Pavilion at The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park

Be moved by an evening of stirring music performed by the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra. Their latest program ‘Flight’ will showcase flying in the Hudson Valley, featuring Rhinebeck Aerodrome, the Balloon Festival, and more. 10. Harlem Valley Farm and Food Alliance Spring Farm Days
When: March 30th & 31st | Where: Multiple Locations

As spring rolls around our local farms come alive with markets, activities, and events. The last weekend in March, explore eastern Dutchess for the Spring Farm Days hosted by the Harlem Valley Farm and Food Alliance, which is made up of six farms – Brookby Farm Store and Dairy, J.S.K. Cattle Company, Harlem Valley Homestead, Hoofprint Cheese Company, Locust Hill Market and Soukup Farms. The weekend will allow you to experience farm life, tour each location, see maple syrup demonstrations, bottle feed baby goats and so much more. Learn more here.
