K104.7’s Annual Cupcake Festival 
When: May 4th | Where: Stormville Airport, Stormville
The sweetest event in the Hudson Valley returns this year at a new location! The festival features the most delicious and unique cupcake flavors, and bakers will compete to see who takes home the title of ‘Best Cupcake in the Hudson Valley’. In addition to cupcakes, shop local vendors and enjoy kid-friendly activities – don’t miss it! Admission and parking are free. Rain date is May 5th.

Apple Blossom Festival
When: May 4th & 5th, 11th & 12th | Where: Barton Orchards, Poughquag
Spring is here and the blooming trees are a sight to be seen! Join Barton Orchards for two consecutive weekends to admire their beautiful display of apple blossoms during their Apple Blossom Festival. Enjoy a hayride around the orchard to see the blooms up close, along with live music, a petting zoo, farm market, tap room and more! Admission is free, so round up the family and enjoy a fun spring weekend!

Turn, Turn, Turn! A Celebration of Pete Seeger’s 100th Birthday
When: May 5th | Where: Bardavon, Poughkeepsie
Not only does the Bardavon have a big birthday this year, but so does Pete Seeger! Purchase your tickets and come celebration the music icon’s 100th birthday! The festivities will feature more than twenty of Pete’s beloved songs, from children’s tunes to activist anthems, including We Shall Overcome, Big Muddy, Wimoweh, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, and of course, Turn Turn Turn. The show will be comprised of a variety of dance styles, and will use historical photos and recordings to take viewers on a journey through American history. Tickets available here.

Hudson Valley Comic Con
When: May 11th & 12th | Where: Gold’s Gym and Exhibition Center, Poughkeepsie
Calling all fans of superheroes, sci-fi and pop culture – don’t miss the chance to attend Hudson Valley Comic Con!  This annual event links sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, pop culture, anime, and video games in one expo. Mother’s Day in Dutchess

From mouthwatering brunch to historic tours, treat your mom to a memorable day in Dutchess! Several restaurants throughout the area will be offering a special brunch menu – including Mill Creek Caterers, Shadows on the Hudson, and 1915 Wine Cellar among others. Afterwards, continue to pamper mom with a visit to Haven Spa, or with a relaxing yoga class or salt cave session at Hudson Valley Healing Center.

11th Annual Millbrook Literary Festival
When: May 18th | Where: Village of Millbrook
What was inspired by Merritt Bookstore founder Scott Meyer, the Millbrook Literary Festival began as a way to engage the community, share his love of books and encourage writers. Each year, the festival features nationally recognized authors and promotes talented local and regional writers, with panels that are accessible and interesting to all ages. This year’s festival will present many timely, thought-provoking, and thoroughly entertaining authors and illustrators participating in panel discussions, readings, and signings throughout the day at the Millbrook Library on Franklin Avenue.

Wassaic Project Summer Exhibition Opening Day & Community Day
When: May 18th | Where: Wassaic Project, Wassaic
Take a trip to eastern Dutchess and experience what Wassaic Project is all about! Saturday, May 18th is Opening Day of their Summer Exhibition, and they’re not only opening the gallery, they’re kicking things off what a full blown celebration. Northeast Outdoor Sports Show
When: May 18th & 19th | Where: Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Rhinebeck
This two-day showcase is perfect for those with a deep passion for anything and everything outdoors. Stormville Airport Antique and Flea Market
When: May 25th & 26th | Where: Stormville Airport, Stormville
Antique and flea market season is here, and there are so many treasures to be found. One of Dutchess County’s largest is the Stormville Airport Antique Show and Flea Market and it kicks off the season on April 27th and 28th. Over 600 vendors travel to the show to offer shoppers endless unique items. From antiques and collectibles, to home décor, arts and specialty food, these shows are not to be missed!

Barn Star Antiques
When: May 25th & 26th | Where: Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Rhinebeck
Barn Star Antiques Spring Show always draws a crowd! Featuring over 140 exhibitors, there’s plenty of treasure to be uncovered. From jewelry and décor, to furniture and art, there’s so much to shop you may need both days!
