The play is based on factual accounts and actual letters written by veterans and their family members, from the American Revolutionary War, all the way through the current Afghanistan conflict. It honors and explores the internal struggles that veterans and their families face when the soldier returns home from combat. The American Soldier received 4 stars at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, was nominated for International Amnesty Award for theatre excellence and recently performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
