Come and celebrate the wonderful diversity of our unique Hudson Valley Craft Brews! No matter whether your tastes run to sours or lagers, ales or Pilsners, or no doubt its stouts. You’ll enjoy sampling the many locally made craft brews on hand from area breweries and restaurants. You might even find a craft spirit or a hard cider that appeals to your taste buds along the way!
It all boils down to one simple question: Do you like beer? The Hudson Valley is now a certified craft beer destination. So just follow us to these wonderful Brew Festivals taking place from now through October in Dutchess County! Grab a growler and let’s discover some new fall flavors, and renew our acquaintance with old favorites! Salute!
September means Oktoberfests, of course! Here are two for you:
Oktoberfest returns September 8 – 10 to the GERMANIA FESTIVAL GROUNDS. Hosted by Germania of Poughkeepsie, New York's Fest Best Since 1850! HOW many events can claim that? AND just like our ancestors, we have a longing for delicious German food and baked goods & Bavarian Pretzels. Wash it down with Munich's Finest Biers. German singers & Bavarian dancers. 37 Old DeGarmo Road, Poughkeepsie.

Oktoberfest at Tymor Park is held rain or shine on Sunday, September 24th! Come to Tymor Park to help capture the jovial spirit of Germany with their annual Oktoberfest celebration! This family friendly day is full of excitement from start to finish! Get out your lederhosen and dirndls, raise your stein and join the many happy festival-goers! Celebrate the beginning of autumn with this joyful tradition from 12 - 7 pm. Admission is $5; ages 5 and under are free of charge! Dutchess Tourism, Inc. has partnered with our purveyors of fine spirits & craft brews to present the Dutchess County Craft Beverage Trail! For decades, area beverage makers have had a locally-focused earth to bottle approach to their craft. You can see and taste the results for yourself! A tour of Dutchess County’s wineries, breweries, and distilleries (not to mention the hops farm, cidery) starts with this Dutchess Craft Beverage Trail map. Take a tour, try a tasting, and enjoy exploring with your friends. Who knows what local brew you might discover? It could become your facortie drink of all! #DutchCraftBev

Beacon Welcomes 5th Annual Hudson Valley Craft Beer Festival
Wine isn’t the only thing for which the Hudson Valley is known! Sample more than 150 releases from 90 terrific American craft breweries at the Hudson Valley America On Tap Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, September 16th. Jam to a few rockin’ live music sets, browse cool area vendors, and sip and snack on delicious food from food trucks all day long. They’ve even got some awesome activities and games to test your skills while you sip the day away. Take advantage of either VIP or a general admission sampling sessions at the biggest, best craft beer festival yet with the scenic Hudson River as a backdrop from 1:30 - 5:30pm; VIP Admission starts at 12:30pm. Buy tickets online! Designated Driver tickets, $10, are sold at the door only; must be 21 to attend.
Don’t want to drive? Smart choice! Take the train to the festival! Enjoy a scenic ride along the Hudson River on MTA’s Hudson line to the Beacon Train Station. Pete & Toshi Seeger Riverfront Park is just steps away from the station!
On Saturday, September 30th, make room for something a little different: Murder at the Vassar Brewery or (Whatever Ales You?) The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center, in partnership with the talented theater troupe from the Murder Café, Inc. presents this interactive mystery! The beautiful Victorian Italianate buildings at 9 & 12 Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie set the scenes for an historic encounter of the murdering kind. During a sumptuous buffet dinner, up to 100 distinguished guests try to solve a period murder mystery involving the distinguished Vassar name.
Admission of $70 includes a delicious and hearty spread of appetizers, entrée, dessert, drinks & interactive sleuthing for prizes. You’re encouraged to wear Victorian costumes to compete for prizes!
Stormville Airport will host its 1st Annual Wine, Cider and Food Truck Festival. This festival brings together two great loves for many: Wine and Food.
The Car Show is from 12 pm – 4 pm. The Wine and Cider Festival will take place from 2 pm to 6 pm. Wine and Cider tickets are limited, to give everyone the best tasting experience.
Show parking hours are 10am - 12pm. The car show is from 12pm-4pm. Please arrive by 12pm. Registration fee is $15 per car (driver and passenger); which includes general admission to the Festival. General Admission for car show spectators is $5 per person (children 12 & under free), which gives you access to all the food trucks, music, kids' zone and other great activities.
The festivals wrap up with a great one on Saturday, October 7tThe CIA's 2nd Annual Brew U Beer Festival U love food. U love the CIA. And because the CIA loves U back, you get "first pour" on tickets to the second annual Brew U Beer Festival at The Culinary Institute of America (The Egg) at 1946 Campus Drive just off Route 9 in Hyde Park. Meet New York State brewers and beer experts. Sample beers from more than a dozen regional breweries and cider producers, including from the Brewery at the CIA; includes a tour of that.
VIP admission gets you in an hour early, 1–5 pm, so you can chat with brewers and sample the beer and food before the rest of the crowd. Plus, you'll also get a special gift bag. General Admission: 2–5 pm.
The Brewery at the CIA took home the silver medal in the Belgian Farmhouse category of the Taste NY Governor's Cup Craft Beer competition in Rochester. Its Class Project Stay Sharp Saison, a beer created by CIA students in the Arts & Science of Brewing class, competed against 15 other beers for that award.
