A Cup of the Valley Coffee and Tea Festival Returns on April 28th

Date Published: April 18, 2019

After a successful inaugural event in 2018, the Cup of the Valley Coffee and Tea Festival is back for another year! The fest is set for Sunday, April 28th from 10am to 5pm at the Marriott Pavilion at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. It highlights the flavors of local and imported coffees and teas, in addition to samplings of gourmet specialty goods. Try products from Dutchess favorites including The Crafted Kup, Harney and Sons Fine Teas, North River Roasters, and The Poughkeepsie Grind. See exhibitions during the day on various topics related to the coffee roasting process, brewing techniques, and more.

Tea drinkers will find delicious teas provided by resident purveyors, tea shops and specialty markets. Participate in an authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony, an artistic pastime unique to Japan, which involves serving and drinking Matcha, a powdered Japanese green tea.

The Latte Art Competition is open to any and all who’d like to test their skills against the best in the region. The contest takes place all day, with the champion to be determined in the late afternoon.

Get ready to groove to the music upstairs in the Marriott Pavilion Auditorium, with area bands and artists performing all day. In addition to sampling a large variety of coffees and teas, you’ll enjoy coffee- and tea-themed desserts, treats, and eats. Bring home your favorites, all made in the Hudson Valley.

This event is sponsored by the Poughkeepsie South and Wappingers Falls Rotary Clubs. Purchase your tickets now early and save! Adult tickets $17 and Student tickets available for $15 (student ID must be provided).
