Wethersfield Estate and Gardens

Epitome of a country gentleman's, Chauncey D. Stillman (1907-1989), estate of the late 20th century.  Features a Carriage House Museum with 22 restored horse drawn carriages; a Main Residence with extensive art and furniture collection; surrounded by the formal Garden, inspired by villa gardens of the Italian Renaissance.  It blends the formal with the natural landscape.  Trimmed hedges accented with sculptures, water features and spectacular panoramic views.  Garden open June - Sept, Thursday, Friday and Saturday Sat. noon - 5 pm .  Tours of House and Carriage House by reservation only.
