Liberal arts college founded in 1860, Bard occupies a 600-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River and offers degrees in nearly 50 academic programs in four divisions: Arts; Languages and Literature; Science, Mathematics, and Computing; and Social Studies. Bard is also home to the Bard Conservatory of Music, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. Bard’s Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, designed by Frank Gehry, presents a variety of opera, music, drama, and dance performances, special events, conferences, lectures, and other public presentations. Center for Curatorial Studies presents exhibitions of contemporary art. Levy Economics Institute hosts conferences and lectures on economic and policy issues.
