Gilded Age mansion was the home of Frederick and Louise Vanderbilt from 1896-1938.  Includes formal gardens, grounds, hiking trails and spectacular views of the Hudson River.

There is public transportation from the Poughkeepsie train station to Historic Hyde Park. On Sundays and holidays when public transit is not running, visitors can take the Roosevelt Ride shuttle.

No matter how you arrive at the Home of FDR, the National Park Service’s Roosevelt Ride can shuttle you to and from any of these sites: Franklin D. Roosevelt Home, Library & Museum, Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site (Val-Kill) and Top Cottage (May - October)
