The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, in partnership with the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum and Taconic Resources for Independence, presents a Disability Film Club screening of the 2020 film "Crip Camp" in the Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home.
This is the second film screening of the new Disability Film Club, which will feature movies and documentaries covering a range of disability subjects. All screenings will be closed-captioned.
"Crip Camp" is an American documentary film about Camp Jened, a summer camp for disabled people in upstate New York. Starting in 1971, the film follows campers who later became disability rights activists, including Judith Heumann, who paved the way for the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990.
