Take a walk back in time as you tour the home of the original settlers of the area that is now known as the Village of Wappingers Falls. Learn about its early history from the Revolutionary War era, with the first owner of the Homestead being a Patriot and the second owner a Tory. Hear the story of the Wappingers Tea Party of 1777. Explore the Victorian Era-styled rooms of the Homestead and their displays of local antiquities, which reflect the lifestyle of the later generations of the Mesier family. See a portion of the Wappingers Historical Society's collection of Native American artifacts.
Tours are offered at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Tours include the second floor. The first floor of the Homestead is wheelchair accessible.
