Mount Gulian Historic SiteThe White Glove Tour gives visitors the unique opportunity to don a pair of white gloves to examine, firsthand, selected artifacts of the Verplanck home site.
Mount Gulian Historic Site features 300 years of history with accounts of the Wappinger Indians, the settlement of the land on the Hudson River by the Dutch Colonial Verplanck family, the birthplace of the Society of the Cincinnati, the headquarters for General Von Steuben during The Revolutionary War, excerpts from the personal journals of fugitive slave, James F. Brown and the intimate letters of Lieutenant Robert Verplanck to his family during his service while training troops of African American soldiers in The Civil War.
