Songs to Celebrate the Centennial of Women's Suffrage in New York State @ Morton Library

New York State endorsed the right of women to vote on November 6, 1917. Celebrate the centennial with Pat Lamanna and Lydia Adams Davis as they present “Songs to Celebrate the Centennial of Women’s Suffrage in New York State” on Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m., at the Morton Memorial Library and Community House, 82 Kelly Street, Rhinecliff.  They will trace the Women’s Suffrage movement through its beginnings in the Abolitionist movement; explore its connections to the Temperance movement; and bring us up-to-date to the modern Feminist movement -- all through exuberant, lively, sometimes humorous, and sometimes touching songs.

Pat and Lydia are “herstorians,” folksingers, songwriters and social activists.  You can check out a web site about this presentation at https://www.rumorsofpeace.net/women-s-suffrage-centennial
