Bard College Hosts Artist and Designer Maya Lin

At the Intersection of Art and Architecture, on Monday, October 23,  and The “Memory Works” on Tuesday, October 24.  T

he receptoions take place at 4:30 p.m. with the lectures following at 5 p.m. in Weis Cinema, Bertelsmann Campus Center. Admission is free and open to the public and no reservations are required. For more information go to www.bard.edu.

The work of artist and designer Maya Lin balances art and architecture. Her installations, studio artworks, architecture, and memorials, such as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, merge physical and psychological environments and present new ways of seeing the world. In 2009 Lin was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the nation’s highest honor for artistic excellence, and in 2016 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her widely acclaimed memorials.
