The Stissing Center's Local Produce Readers’ Theatre "Farm to Stage" play reading series presents "Merry Christmas, You're Fired."

Firing a certain number of employees at Christmas time, playwright Donn Potter explores the story of Ed Burnside, the CEO and President of a New York City advertising agency who orders the firing to make the financial picture and stock look better to Wall Street at the beginning of the following year.

Cast:

Joe Felece has appeared in many comedy, drama and musical roles at various venues in the area over the years. Some favorite roles include: "Odd Couple" (Oscar); "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (Big Daddy); "Twelve Angry Men" (Juror #3); "Rumors" (Lenny); "Forum" (Marcus Lycus); and the annual reprise of Jacob Marley in "Christmas Carol" at the Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, as well as a few small SAG roles in feature films.

Martine King from Glasgow, Scotland, is a member of both the Glasgow and Scottish Youth Theatres whose performances include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in plays by Agatha Christie and Leonard Cohen and a Panto season; Cocoon Theatre’s ensemble cast of one-act plays by Harold Pinter; "Love/Sick" and "Henry V" at the Center of Performing Arts at Rhinebeck; and Evergreen Cemetery Tours, Pine Plains.

Playwright Donn King Potter worked for many years as an advertising copywriter/creative supervisor in New York City. He spent weekends in Pine Plains with his wife, Beth, and son, Jonathan. In the late 80s, Donn began writing plays with political themes. In 1996, Beth and Donn began publishing a magazine, "The Country and Abroad," focusing on the arts in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont.
