County Players Present the Terrence McNally Comedy "It's Only a Play"

County Players, one of the longest running community theatre companies in the area, is proud to present the Terrence McNally comedy “It’s Only a Play.” Directed by Kit Colbourn, this Main Stage production opens Feb. 3 and runs through Feb. 18. Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18, at 8 p.m., with matinees on Sunday, Feb. 12, and Sat., Feb. 18, at 2 p.m., and held at the County Players Falls Theatre.

A Broadway opening-night party in a stylish NYC apartment brings together a cacophony of characters with an armload of wit, warmth and winter coats! "It’s Only a Play" is a laugh-out-loud love letter to the resilience of live theatre and an homage to the people who — even when things seem impossible — believe that the marquee will be lit again, and the show must go on. The production features the local talents of Michael Frohnhoefer, Griffin Stenger, Emily Boone, Ann Citron, Paul Coleman, Matt Fields, Eric Feeney and Euphemia Olive Sargiani. Director Colbourn says "This hilarious and loving sendup of the theatre and its people is a joy. Audiences will recognize many of the names dropped and the foibles and delicate egos of all who work in this noble artform called ‘the theatre.’ It's also a testament to the resilience and passion of anyone who loves the theatre, on both sides of the footlights.
