"Eleanor Roosevelt and the Fight for Civil Rights" Talk at FDR Presidential Library & Museum

Join us for a special Human Rights Day presentation at the Wallace Center with historian for the Poughkeepsie Public Library District Shannon Butler.

The talk will focus on Eleanor Roosevelt’s work on civil rights during both her time in the White House and after the Roosevelt presidency. Butler will look at the various relationships she had with civil rights activists and presidents, and what fighting she had to do in order to get civil rights legislation enacted.
