The Roosevelt Ride Free Shuttle

A new National Park Service hybrid bus provides free shuttle service daily from the Poughkeepsie train station to Historic Hyde Park, so visitors without cars can tour all four NPS sites. The Roosevelt Ride meets Metro-North trains arriving from New York City and delivers passengers to the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt; Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill, and the Vanderbilt Mansion, open every day from 9am to 5pm. Guided tours by National Park Rangers are offered all day. Top Cottage, FDR's retreat, offers three programs every day at 11:10am, 1:10pm, and 3:10pm. www.NPS.gov/hofr
