Hyde Park Heritage Greenway Trail Expands
Hike the new, recently added path, of the Hyde Park Heritage Greenway Trail. The new trail easement was donated by The Anderson Center for Autism and opened in early November. This new walkway establishes a trail for public use along the Hudson River, linking the Vanderbilt National Historic Site to Norrie Point State Park. On top of this, the pathway grants 2,400 feet of new trail access through school property.
The Anderson Center has contributed this great gift to the residents and visitors of Hyde Park to provide a terrific hiking experience for all ages. The Center’s donation has made it possible for you to welcome spring along the beautiful, majestic Hudson.
The new trail has joined the 10-mile system of trails and walkways linking town parks, nature preserves and National Park sites with local neighborhoods and the Town’s central business corridor. There is loose stone on all trails, so wear appropriate footwear. While hiking the trails, follow tulip tree leaf markers or trail blazes painted on the trees. There are no vehicles allowed on these trails. View the new kiosks at many of the trailheads.
So pack up the family and take a walk on the wild side! This is a fantastic way to enjoy the Hudson Valley scenery, and get some exercise and fresh air all at the same time! For more information about the many different trails of the Hyde Park Heritage Greenway Trail visit
