Hudson Valley Renegades: Play Ball!
The Hudson Valley Renegades, our Class-A minor league baseball team, has exciting games and promotions slated all summer long! The Renegades kick off their 2008 season on Tuesday, June 17 with their own “New Year’s Celebration” at 7:05pm. Fans attending opening night are treated to all the hoopla surrounding a typical New Year’s celebration, but with a little Renegades twist. Don't leave early, because fans staying until the end will be astonished by an amazing fireworks show.
Check out the entire Renegades 2008 promotional schedule. It's undergone a complete makeover, and is jam-packed with wonderful theme nights and fantastic giveaways. The Renegades have added more Fireworks Nights than ever, totaling 11 for this season.
It’s that time again: time for “Bobblection 2008.” With the election right around the corner, the Renegades try predicting the next president. On August 6, the first 1,500 fans through the turnstiles have a chance to cast an early vote for the next American president. Each voting fan receives a bobblehead in the likeness of the nominee they selected.
Every year there's something special for kids at the ballpark. On Friday, July 18, the tables are turned with the “One Night Stand.” Fans are asked to remain on their feet for the entire game; one hit wonders are honored; and, after the game, adults are invited onto the field for a sleepover. Make sure to get a sitter, as the sleepover is for grown-ups only!
Many teams across America honor different ethnic heritages. On July 1, the Renegades break tradition and celebrate American heritage with “Born in the USA.” The Renegades give away a U.S. Citizenship to one deserving fan.
Ever wonder what it’s like to attend one of those prestigious award shows? Wonder no more. On Saturday, August 16, the boys of summer host the best award show of 2008: “The Rookies.” Fans are treated like movie stars, with the first 1,500 people through the turnstiles awarded a Rookie Soap Dispenser.
Remember how exciting Show and Tell days were in school? The Renegades bring that excitement back in a big way on Sunday, July 27, with the largest Show and Tell the area has ever seen. Come to the ballpark with something neat to show off to the crowd. Who knows? You might go home with a great prize. July 27 also marks the return of fan favorite Renegades Build-A-Bear, given out to the first 1,500 kids 12 and under.
Hudson Valley’s biggest Easter Egg Hunt is set for Sunday, July 6. After the game, kids take the field to race for 3,000 eggs filled with prizes ranging from money to candy.
The Tamp Bay Rays affiliates' season runs from the June 17 opener versus Cal Ripkin, Jr.'s Aberdeen Ironbirds until Saturday, September 6. Don't miss the Hudson Valley Renegades play ball at Dutchess Stadium, on Route 9D in Fishkill. Remember, it's "Fireworks on Friday" and a host of other fun promotions. And can't you just taste those ballpark franks? Maybe a nice sausage and pepper sub…and leave room for ice cream! Call for tickets, family-friendly priced from $5-$11; there's plenty of discounts for kids, seniors, and groups. Call 845/838-0094 or
