Historic Tall Ships Will Once Again Sail the Hudson
The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc, one of the country’s most successful environmental organizations created to defend and restore the Hudson River, will offer Hudson River trips on two historic tall ships, the Sloop Clearwater and the Schooner Mystic Whaler. The trips will take place April through October, and every trip will have a different theme and events. Sails aboard these remarkable ships offer participants an ecological adventure and a voyage of discovery, learning about the history, culture and ecology of the Hudson River.

Each sail features special themes, guest speakers, talks on the river's history, exploration of environmental issues, orientation to the boat and crew, as well as food, music and entertainment. Everyone also has a hands-on opportunity to help raise the 3,000-pound mainsail and take the tiller - all while enjoying unique views of the Hudson River shoreline. To book passage on a tall ship sailing trip, call (800) 67-SLOOP ext. 107 or visit www.clearwater.org . Two Dutchess County Icons Turn 60!
This year is the 60 th anniversary of both the FDR National Historic Site and The Culinary Institute of America. To celebrate these shared birthdays, the two sites have joined forces to allow everyone to eat a meal fit for a president. The CIA’s American Bounty restaurant will be offering Franklin Roosevelt’s favorite meal, prepared just the way he would’ve liked it.
