Hudson Valley Restaurant Week: Eat. Drink. Discover.
Get Ready! This premier foodie event returns from November 4 to 17. Hudson Valley Restaurant Week showcases so many terrific restaurants, it's not whether to dine out, but where to go!
Our best chefs have created new recipes, and are ready to serve incomparable dishes at a price you can't resist. Try a wide variety of cuisines with a change of ambience from night to night! From casual bistros to fine dining, you'll experience a true taste of the Hudson Valley's bounty. Make your reservations early, and enjoy your dining adventures with three-course prix-fixe lunches for $20.95 and dinners for $29.95.
The Hudson Valley is a nationally celebrated culinary destination. Chefs source ingredients locally to support area farmers and purveyors. They patronize our vineyards, distilleries, farms and orchards for their fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, maple syrup, and other specialty foods, to be incorporated into new recipes. It's no wonder National Geographic named the Hudson Valley one of the world's Top Twenty "Must See Destinations"!
Don't come for just a day. Look for special getaway deals on lodging and enjoy many nights of dining out. Dine at participating restaurants during Restaurant Week, complete a survey online, and enter to win prizes from The Valley Table, Adams Fairacre Farms, restaurants and others. Check for discount packages, plus see the list of participating restaurants at www.hudsonvalleyrestaurantweek.com
Haunted History Trail
From the great spirits invoked by early Native American tribes, to the first Dutch settlers who carefully avoided haunted places, New York has harbored spooky events that can't be explained. Interest in the eerie has increased with television and movies exploring the ghosts and UFOs. All of this awaits you on the Haunted History Trail as it takes you to the places where human forms come out of the mist and strange lights wink from the dark.
Discover the St. James Historic Graveyard Tours in Hyde Park, led by lantern light through their churchyard every Saturday night through November 2nd. Tour the Clermont State Historic Site mansion after dark on the last two October weekends. Meet ghosts from Clermont's 200 years of history on their popular Legends by Candlelight Ghost Tours. A tour of Wing's Castle in Millbrook leaves you mesmerized by the antique memorabilia and collectibles, everything from military to primitive trinkets, each with their own story to tell.
Was that a slight breeze across your arm, or did an ethereal being brush against you? Explore the trail to hear New York's bone chilling history and meet ghosts from the past. What will scare you the most? Visiting a haunted castle? An unexpected voice or touch when no one's there? Touring a cemetery as shadows waver in the torchlight? The trail offers serious ghost hunting locations catering to investigative teams, as well as seasonal events. Remember, there really IS something lurking in the cemetery. www.hauntedhistorytrail.com
